Clinical Nurse, Operating Room Espaola, New Mexico

The clinical nurse provides direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during each shift using the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs, care provided, and patient responses, while coordinating care with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts; 1.0 FTE with a 06:30 start time; weekends and call as needed.
• Required Qualifications: Nursing license (State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (BLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross); Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); minimum two (2) years current experience in a large Operating Room (OR); ability to scrub; completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Preferred Qualifications: Epic experience preferred (can be trained on-site); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred; ortho, ear/nose/throat (EENT), and/or vascular experience a plus.
• Additional Information: Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles may be required. The role provides clinical care including administration of medications and treatments as prescribed or per standard protocols, and includes clinical supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel.
