About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated, passionate, and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Bremerton, WA. In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can learn and grow. You will help implement engaging lesson plans, manage daily classroom routines, and foster positive relationships with families to support each child's individual development.
What You'll Do- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily educational activities and age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Provide direct supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that meets state licensing standards.
- Guide children in development of good health and hygiene habits, including meal times, dressing, and toileting.
- Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and social-emotional development to share with parents and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare facility or school setting.
- Ability to pass a Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) background check.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler's certifications, or willingness to obtain them within 30 days of hire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Initial Washington State ECE Certificate.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and inclusive classroom settings.
- Knowledge of Washington State MERIT system and licensing requirements.
