Associate Director, Portfolio AI Activation

Associate Director leading advanced analytics and data science projects within Merck's AI Activation team. The role focuses on applying machine learning and emerging AI to commercial and marketing questions across specialty pharma and infectious disease business units, partnering with brand and field teams to drive adoption of analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics and data science projects addressing brand, marketing, and HCP targeting questions
• Develop machine learning and statistical models for predictive analysis, segmentation, and forecasting
• Translate analytic outputs into clear, actionable insights for brand leadership and field teams
• Identify and support AI pilots grounded in real business needs and drive adoption across commercial teams
• Ensure analytics work meets data privacy, compliance, and governance standards

Requirements

• 5+ years pharmaceutical or healthcare commercial analytics, marketing analytics, or data science
• Strong machine learning and statistics expertise for HCP targeting, segmentation, and predictive modeling
• Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial data sources and business model
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or R; experience with Databricks or Dataiku
• Hands-on experience applying AI tools to analytics workflows
• Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field
• People and/or matrix leadership experience with cross-functional teams
