Civil Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Kalamazoo, Michigan . This position will support the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects for public and private-sector clients. The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of civil engineering experience , with strong expertise in municipal water, wastewater, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and roadway infrastructure . Candidates who are local to Kalamazoo or within a reasonable commuting distance are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of municipal water, wastewater, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and roadway infrastructure projects. Prepare engineering studies, preliminary and final designs, construction drawings, specifications, and permitting documents. Coordinate with engineers, designers, surveyors, and technicians to deliver projects on schedule and within budget. Support construction administration activities, including review of shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, pay applications, change orders, and project documentation. Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, scopes, and work plans. Coordinate with clients, municipalities, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Ensure projects comply with applicable local, state, and federal engineering standards and regulations. Support projects from initial planning and design through construction completion. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering . 5-15 years of relevant civil engineering experience . Strong experience with municipal infrastructure projects . Experience with water, wastewater, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and/or roadway projects . Knowledge of municipal permitting and funding processes. Experience with construction administration or construction oversight. Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, engineering scopes, and work plans. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through construction. Experience working directly with municipalities and public-sector clients. Strong project coordination and client relationship management skills. Experience reviewing construction documents, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change orders. Why Join Us?
