Seeking a Global Automation Manager for a high growth chemicals manufacturing client in the NJ area.

The Global Automation Manager would be responsible for strategic leadership for the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of process control, automation, and data acquisition systems across new and existing global facilities. Managing the full controls stack-from field instrumentation and safety systems to PLC/DCS programming and data architecture-the role partners with R&D, Process Engineering, Operations, and EHS to drive world-class, repeatable manufacturing performance.

responsibilities:

• Lead system design and execution: Drive the architecture and implementation of process control, automation, and data acquisition systems across new equipment and manufacturing processes.

• Establish automation standards: Define technical guidelines and standards for PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, DCS, instrumentation, control panels, historians, alarms, safety interlocks, and batch systems.

• Integrate process engineering: Specify and size process equipment and hardware, including control valves, pumps, flowmeters, reactors, mixers, and safety systems.

• Develop control philosophies: Formulate operating controls tailored to reaction risks, process chemistry, operating windows, cleaning requirements, and abnormal-condition handling.

• Enable novel process scale-up: Design adaptable control systems for pilot or first-of-a-kind processes that support R&D experimentation while building toward commercial production standards.

• Drive cross-functional collaboration: Partner with R&D, Process Engineering, and Operations to facilitate seamless technology transfer and process integration.
