High School Biology Teacher

The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of: High School Biology Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate. Experience preferred, but not required. Additional Content Certifications (Preferred or Willing to Obtain) The successful candidate will: Utilize data to determine learning needs of students and drive instruction. Work collaboratively with other staff members of the department and building. Be a proactive communicator with parents and colleagues. Promote academic language to enhance student learning. Develop and maintain positive relationships with students. Clearly communicate how students will be engaged in their classroom. Proactively plan for student engagement in instruction. Use formative assessment to modify teaching. Display and employ enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning. Value individual students and differentiate for their success. Have knowledge of the current shifts in education standards and practices. Successfully collaborate with team and departmental colleagues. Demonstrate effective classroom management strategies. Effectively integrate technology to enhance learning. Plan for and facilitate student critical thinking. Understand and support Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS).
