Onsite in Little Rock, AR , this Patient Financial Services role supports smoother patient experiences through clear billing education, accurate account handling, and timely follow-up. What you’ll do As a Patient Financial Services Representative, you serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers. You manage patient accounts by handling billing inquiries, clarifying insurance coverage, explaining charges, and resolving discrepancies to support accurate billing and timely payments. Answer patient questions about billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment options in a prompt and professional manner Verify patient insurance information and eligibility to support accurate billing and reimbursement Help patients set up payment plans and provide guidance on available financial assistance programs when applicable Coordinate with internal teams including billing, coding, and insurance to resolve account discrepancies and denials Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient interactions, payments, and account adjustments in compliance with healthcare regulations Key qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred Previous experience in patient financial services, medical billing, or a related healthcare administrative role Strong understanding of medical insurance terminology, billing processes, and healthcare regulations Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software Excellent communication and customer service skills Skills that matter in this role Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex billing and insurance details so patients understand their responsibilities Analytical ability to review patient accounts, identify discrepancies, and work with insurance companies to resolve issues efficiently Proficiency with billing software and EHRs to ensure accurate data entry and account management Customer service skills with empathy and professionalism to help reduce anxiety related to financial matters Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance to handle patient information securely and ethically Preferred qualifications Certification in medical billing or coding (for example, Certified Professional Biller or Certified Coding Specialist) Experience working with multiple insurance providers, including familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid billing Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism Compensation and benefits Pay: USD 30 per hour.
