Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

The RN - PCU (Progressive Care Unit) is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to post-operative and step-down patients in a state-of-the-art unit. This role involves monitoring and stabilizing patients with complex conditions, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer and monitor patient care, including post-op recovery and cardiac drips, ensuring adherence to physician orders.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Assess patient conditions regularly and update care plans accordingly.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Utilize electronic medical records (Meditech) to document patient information accurately and timely.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about post-operative care, procedures, and recovery expectations.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Adhere to unit policies and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  Qualifications:
  
  
  
  
• 
  Hold an active RN license and meet state-specific licensing requirements.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 1 year of recent acute care hospital PCU experience.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate experience with Meditech electronic medical records.
  
  
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong teamwork, communication, and personable skills suitable for a friendly, outgoing work environment.
