Accounting Senior Specialist

POSITION: Accounting Senior Specialist DEPARTMENT: AccountingFLSA / SALARY BAND: Salary / Exempt

Senior Accounting Specialist prepares and oversees the financial statements, maintains the General Ledger and other financial records, prepares and revises annual budgets, establishes policies and procedures for all internal accounting purposes. Additional responsibilities include analyzing the organization's financial position in regards to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Follow all safety rules and ISO requirements· Assure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards· Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/IATF 16949 standards, and company policies and procedures· Oversees others in the department and works closely with Accounting Leadership· Helps research and problem solve accounting processes· Initiates accounting technology within Accounting and other departments· Confirms month end close· Confirms account reconciliations· Reviews the financial statement preparation and review· May be required to be IATF Certified· Plans and coordinates activities to support internal and external audits with Accounting Specialist· Performs other tasks assigned by Management

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field· 5 + years of financial accounting experience in an automotive manufacturing setting preferred· Advance knowledge and understanding of accounting management, methods, practices, concepts, principles, and procedures· Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelines· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point software programs· Experience with QAD or similar ERP system· Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timelines· Ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely manner· Skill in the use of personal computers related software applications· Must be able to follow standard filing procedures· Eager to learn and work with other departments· Ability to supervise and train assigned employee(s) including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments· Excellent communication skills both written and oral communication, and organizational skills· Must attend and assist with physical inventories· Must be pleasant, confidant, friendly and able to work in an environment that supports a diversity of cultures

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and work at computer for long periods of time. The Team Member is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Must be able to work in warm temperature environment on a daily basis for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
