DUTIES: Admission nurse is responsible for coordinating and completion of new/returning resident/patient admission assessments. Must demonstrate competency in clinical assessment. Must demonstrate effective communication skills. Is required to utilize computer pharmacy system to implement orders. Responsible for initiating appropriate plan of care for new/returning residents/patients. Responsible to oversee unit staff as relates to the admission process. Required to provide nursing supervision in facility as needed, including holiday coverage.QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current valid registration to practice as registered nurse in N.Y.S. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent computer skills necessary. Knowledge of general office equipment. Position requires standing on feet for long periods of time. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to staff members, management peers, hospital administration. Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and carry files of up to 5 lbs.
