Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Machine Tool & Robotics Service Technologist to support a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Howell, MI. You’ll protect throughput on mission-critical automotive and powertrain programs.

- Shift: 3rd Shift | Monday–Friday | 8-Hour Shifts – OT as needed on weekends
- Pay: $35.00 – $39.00/hour (Based on Experience)
A vision system flags a borderline part. You verify the sensor chain, step through ladder logic, trace the wiring, and restore the correct signal state. Hours later, a spindle temperature rises—you plan a controlled stop, replace the spindle, confirm alignment, and capture all data in the maintenance log. By shift end, you’ve completed a VFD install and partnered with production to validate parts-to-print.
Equipment & Systems You’ll Tackle- CNC vertical/horizontal machining centers; turning, milling, and boring
- Robotic automation cells supporting 24-hour production
- Automated assembly, leak testing, and vision inspection
- Integrated high-pressure die casting and heat treating
- Electrical & Controls: Read schematics and ladder logic; troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, AC/DC servo systems, power supplies; panel wiring and conduit work; component replacement
- Mechanical: Disassemble/rebuild CNC equipment; replace ball screws, motors, gearboxes, pumps, spindles, and drives
- Uptime & Quality: Partner with production to solve equipment and quality issues; execute preventative/predictive maintenance; drive continuous improvement and document thoroughly
- Safety: Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA standards, and adhere to confined space and hot work permits
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–3+ years of CNC maintenance in a machining environment
- Proven electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with PLCs, servo systems, and industrial controls
- Comfort reading blueprints and electrical schematics
- Hands-on experience with rigging, spindle repair, and gearbox work
- Associate degree in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, or PLC Programming
- Overhead crane and aerial lift certifications
- Fast-moving production floor with minimal supervision
- Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature swings
- Regular standing, climbing, crouching
- Lifting up to 50+ lbs and performing fine, repetitive motions
- Earn up to $39/hour
