The Position Job Title: Quality Technician Position Status: Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt Hourly Department: Quality Supervision Received: Quality Supervisor Schedule: 12‑hour night shifts, 4 on/4 off, 6 pm–6 am The Quality Technician works with the team to ensure quality systems are understood and in place. Responsibilities include the collection and evaluation of quality data, assessment and processing of manufacturing inspections, development and training of team members on measurement methods, ensuring equipment calibration, verifying material compliance, and maintaining processes in accordance with approved manufacturing requirements. The role also involves inspection of incoming materials and maintaining a safe work environment. Achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) objectives by developing appropriate production/quality data collection processes. Collect data (including nonconformance) and conduct analyses to support continuous improvement plans. Help develop quality control plans (QCP) by identifying critical control points and implementing preventive measures or test methods. Identify ways to improve existing processes and systems to enhance quality and consistency. Inspect and monitor products at all stages of production. Perform manual and automated quality checks. Support training of the operations team on process quality inspections. Prepare quality documentation (NC) and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, including non‑conforming assemblies, process issues, and supplier/raw material issues. Support root cause and corrective actions and validations. Maintain or support calibration requirements. Review incoming documents and complete dimensional inspections of incoming and in‑process products using various variable and attribute gauging methods based on QCP and product engineer drawings and specifications. Support internal and external audits. Perform other duties as assigned by the management officer or delegate. Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or GED, with preference given to individuals with 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a quality‑related position or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent time management. Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knowledge of inspection methods. Ability to work as a team. Experience with data collection and analysis. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must complete a record check and drug screening before employment. Physical Requirements Stand for long periods and traverse the production floor. Climb stairs. Team lift up to 50 lbs. Tolerate a production environment. Compensation Package Salary: $23.50 – $26.00 per hour. Night shift premium: $1 per hour. Benefits and 401(k).
