Unaccompanied Children HSPRS Intensive Case Manager - SIGN-ON BONUS

Job Summary Intensive Case Manager will provide individual, group, and family therapy to youth and their families within the Unaccompanied Children program(s). The role also includes mental health assessments, screening for human trafficking concerns, maintaining accurate case documentation, and delivering crisis intervention and support services. Sign‑on bonus: $1,500. Must reside on the West Side of Michigan. Key Responsibilities Provide youth with individual therapeutic sessions at least once per week. Ensure group counseling sessions are provided at least twice weekly; one session per week facilitated by the therapist. Work with youth and family members and/or sponsors to establish short‑term goals and objectives. Assist with completion of individual service plans and other required assessments within regulatory timeframes set by MCHS and ORR. Develop and implement therapeutic interventions designed to help youth acclimate to life in the United States. Ensure youth can identify and discuss concerns related to their journey into the United States or life in their home country. Collaborate with UC program staff to modify dysfunctional behaviors, help youth heal, strengthen internal resources, and learn socially appropriate skills. Conduct screenings and assessments to identify special needs, developmental, medical, and/or mental health concerns, as well as criminal history, gang involvement, trauma and/or trafficking‑related concerns in accordance with mandated ORR timeframes. Conduct and document risk‑assessment screenings in accordance with mandated ORR timeframes. Provide a comprehensive array of crisis interventions and supports as needed. Coordinate with UC program staff and community resources to address client service needs. Evaluate client and family progress toward goal attainment per the individual treatment plan and discharge goals. Actively participate in mandatory case reviews and planning meetings, presenting accurate and concise summaries to internal and external treatment team members. Complete all required documentation and reports within specified timeframes. Serve as the on‑call therapist when assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned by the UC Director. Work Environment & Remote Office Requirements This position requires the ability to work both in a professional office environment and remotely. Remote duties necessitate a fast, reliable internet connection (minimum 15 Mbps download speed) and a private workspace that permits phone and video calls without interruption, maintains confidentiality of protected health information, and securely stores equipment. The Board of Child Care supplies a laptop and cell phone; the employee is responsible for all other remote office equipment and costs. Travel Travel is required, including local, out‑of‑area, and overnight trips. Frequent local travel will be needed to serve the communities of youth and families. The employee must be willing to travel to other cities by commercial airline, rental car, or other transportation and stay overnight in hotels. Basic Competencies Education and Experience Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling with at least 1 year of experience in a human services or social services setting that demonstrates clinical, case‑management or direct‑service experience. Bachelor’s Degree in the human services field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a human services or social services setting that demonstrates clinical and/or case‑management experience. Experience working with diverse populations, including refugees and/or unaccompanied children and adolescents (preferred). Ability to speak, read, and write in both Spanish and English (preferred).
