Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager to lead operations at a retail pharmacy located within a critical access hospital setting. This role offers hands-on leadership in a 340B outpatient retail pharmacy with an average prescription volume of 140 per day. The position begins on September 14th and will continue for approximately 13 weeks until a permanent pharmacy manager is hired.
Location:
- Orange City, IA
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call duties may occur but are rare
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality patient care
- Manage pharmacy staff including one pharmacist and two technicians without PRN pharmacist support
- Utilize the Pioneer pharmacy computer system for prescription processing and inventory management
- Support 340B program operations within the critical access hospital framework
- Maintain communication with hospital administration and other healthcare professionals to promote integrated patient care
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Current pharmacy license in Iowa or ability to obtain a temporary Iowa license
- Strong retail pharmacy background with prior management experience
- Familiarity with 340B pharmacy programs is highly preferred
- Ability to work full-time and lead a small pharmacy team effectively
- Skilled in using pharmacy computer systems, ideally Pioneer
