Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual health.
• Diagnose and manage vision disorders, eye diseases, and ocular conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe appropriate treatments and medications.
• Conduct vision screenings and preventive eye care evaluations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Provide clinical guidance to optometric technicians and support staff.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options.

Qualifications

Required

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
• Active Louisiana optometry license.
• Federal and state DEA registrations, as applicable.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to practice independently.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Preferred

• Board certification.
• Experience in community-based or multidisciplinary healthcare settings.
• Previous supervisory or clinical leadership experience.
