Data Engineer

Data Warehouse ManagerTo design, implement, maintain, and support all aspects of the data warehouse lifecycle following the continuous improvement model.Primary Job Responsibilities:Oversees the maintenance, improvement, cleaning, and manipulation of data in the data warehouse databases.Partners with Software Engineers, Data Analytics teams, Data Scientists, and Data Architects to understand and aid in the implementation of functional capabilities, analyze performance of data pipelines, and troubleshoot any existent issues.Provides support to the Data Analytics team in data flow design and analysis activities. Plays a key role in the development and deployment of innovative big data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing.Defines and builds data pipelines that will enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business following best practices.Communicates data trends to others in the organization and to help the business make use of the data it collects.Assists with the evaluation and integration of third-party software and technology packages and the preparation and delivery of data to approved external sources.Works with large and complex data sets as well as analyzes volumes of data.Performs system management such as monitoring, disaster recovery, backup, automated testing, automated schema migration, and continuous deployment.Minimum Qualifications:Position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, and three years' data warehouse design and maintenance. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Position requires advanced knowledge of the data warehousing industry including data staging, data transformation, and warehouse design strategies (dimensional modeling), and relational databases as well as various software tools, including Oracle PL/SQL in a UNIX environment and warehouse end user tools, such as Informatica PowerCenter; ability to be result-driven; an analytical and creative thinker; an innovative problem solver; self-motivated and proactive; and the ability to handle multiple and simultaneous tasks meeting aggressive deadlines.
