Music Program Manager

The mission of the Music Clubhouse is to give youth the opportunity to build self-confidence and interpersonal skills by learning how to play, perform, compose, and record music. The primary goal of the program is to use music as a vehicle for developing academic skills, social skills, and to ultimately build self-confidence and self-esteem. The clubhouse is one of a variety of programs that BGCB provides to underserved youth in the community.

The Music Program Manager will be leading a ground-breaking program by introducing only electronic instruments to youth. The individual in this role is both an effective leader of the Music Clubhouse program and a key member of the BGCB staff.

Essential duties and responsibilities include commitment to excellence in curriculum and program development/delivery, behavior management and safety; outreach/engagement, collaboration and supervision/training; meetings, audits, and program evaluations; and additional responsibilities.

General BGCB expectations include healthy behavior modeling, inclusive environment, continuous learning, and safe spaces.

Qualifications required include a BA degree, 3-5 years of developing and implementing programs for teenagers, involvement with youth development programming in an urban setting, flexible and creative self-starter, hands-on mentality, team oriented, advanced understanding of music performance theory and pedagogy, ability to play at least one instrument at an advanced level, and general knowledge of the music business/industry.

Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, previous supervisory experience, project management experience, and multi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Travel between sites and to activities as needed.

Start date: July 15, 2026 (desired start date yet position open until filled).

Location: Mattapan, MA (Josh Kraft Mattapan Teen Center).

Salary and benefits: Salary - $31.13/hour - $34.83/hour - commensurate with experience; along with competitive benefits and a great work environment.
