Job Description

Step into a supportive, collaborative environment dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. Full-time, onsite opportunities are currently available for Special Education Teachers in the New Windsor, NY area, serving children in both kindergarten/elementary and preschool settings. All positions are housed in self-contained classrooms with a low student-to-teacher ratio and strong support from classroom aides, ensuring every child receives individualized attention and care.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

Valid New York State Certification in Special Education (Early Childhood or K–12 preferred)
Experience or genuine interest in teaching students with varying academic and behavioral needs
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment
Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
State clearances required for employment

Key Responsibilities

Lead a self-contained classroom, meeting both academic and behavioral needs as outlined in each student’s IEP
Design engaging lessons tailored to students’ developmental and functional levels
Utilize data-driven best practices to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies
Work closely with classroom support staff to maintain a positive, structured learning space
Communicate regularly with families and related service providers, ensuring consistency in support
