What You’ll Do:

Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring safety and comfort.

Prepare and label specimens correctly, verifying patient information and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with established procedures.

Explain procedures to patients with compassion and professionalism, creating an environment of trust and confidence.

Ensure all blood collection activities are performed following safety standards, infection control protocols, and confidentiality requirements.

Support process excellence by adhering to policies, participating in ongoing training, and demonstrating leadership behaviors.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment at all times, promoting a positive experience for patients and staff.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient daily operations, often working across multiple locations as needed.

Assist with data entry and record keeping, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all patient information and laboratory records.

Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient questions and concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.

Flexibly cover various work locations, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites, sometimes on short notice or during weekends and holidays.

Required Skills:

Proven expertise in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Strong understanding of safety protocols and infection control standards.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.

Ability to perform accurately and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation if travel between locations is required; must maintain a clean driving record.

Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Certification in phlebotomy is preferred but not mandatory; medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.

Nice to Have Skills:

Previous experience in a patient service center or clinical laboratory environment.

Experience working in retail or customer service sectors, demonstrating strong patient-focused communication.

Additional certifications or training in venipuncture or laboratory procedures.

Knowledge of state-specific requirements in California, Nevada, or Washington if applicable.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

1-3 years of professional phlebotomy experience, ideally with pediatric and geriatric patients.

Two or more years working within a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.

Experience with clerical duties, including data entry and documentation.

Other Requirements:

Ability to work in multiple locations, including travel between sites, sometimes on short notice.

Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code standards.

Demonstrate a commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.

Physical capability to stand for extended periods, perform venipuncture, and handle specimen processing.
