Activity Specialist

Activity Therapist Diamond Grove Center has been providing psychiatric services for more than 29 years. Located in Louisville, Mississippi, our 85‑bed facility offers a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness. The facility features individual units for children, adolescents, and provides inpatient acute care as well as residential treatment for adolescents. An average of 1,000 patients receive care each year. Responsibilities Coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive activity program in conjunction with the treatment team. Assess and document patient problems, treatment objectives, and interventions. Participate as a team member in multidisciplinary team conferences to develop and evaluate treatment plans. Implement activity therapy treatment plans, teaching patients to meet goals in a safe, effective manner. Coordinate services with other agencies for patients, especially for after‑care. Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served on the assigned unit. Plan therapeutic outings for patients to attend. Attend in‑service programs, conferences, and lectures within the hospital. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications (Requirements) Bachelor's Degree required. 1–3 years of experience preferred. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred.
