Accounting Assistant

Open, sort, and scan incoming mail and process outgoing mail Transport deposits to banks and distribute interagency mail Order department supplies Participate in assigned committees Work with support staff to assist clients with financial guidance Prepare accounting entries, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations Reconcile accounting software with software used by other departments Prepare, organize, and maintain files for complete documentation and audit trails in accordance with CHS requirements and Social Security Regulations Maintain knowledge of Organizational Social Security Payee rules and procedures Assist with expense management using payroll and banking software applications Support the organization and Finance Team with other assigned duties Requirements Associate degree in a related field plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling four years Excel skills, including the ability to combine and manipulate sets of data Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications Critical thinking skills Strong organizational skills Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and personal valid vehicle insurance Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms preferred Time management and organizational skills preferred Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in accounting processes, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, while maintaining compliance with Social Security Regulations.
