LOAN PROCESSING MANAGER

Remote – Texas | Mortgage Operations Leadership

POSITION OVERVIEW

CMG Home Loans is seeking an experienced Loan Processing Manager to lead a team of up to 20 Loan Processors supporting our East Texas Region.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, development, productivity, and performance of the processing team while helping ensure mortgage loans are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company, investor, and regulatory requirements.

The Processing Manager will provide hands-on leadership, including pipeline and workload management, employee coaching and development, performance management, and resolution of escalated loan issues. This position will partner closely with Branch Managers, Loan Officers, Underwriting, Closing, and other operations teams to help ensure loans move efficiently through the process and meet scheduled closing dates.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must currently reside in Texas and have significant experience processing Texas residential mortgage loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead, coach, and manage a team of up to 20 Loan Processors, providing ongoing guidance, training, and professional development.
• Oversee day-to-day processing operations and ensure loans are handled accurately, efficiently, and within established service and quality standards.
• Assign and manage processor workloads based on pipeline volume, capacity, loan complexity, closing dates, and business priorities.
• Monitor team and individual pipelines to identify delays, bottlenecks, outstanding conditions, and other issues that could impact closing.
• Establish performance expectations and hold team members accountable for productivity, quality, customer service, compliance, and deadlines.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, performance evaluations, and development planning.
• Partner with Branch Managers and Loan Officers to manage priorities, pipeline concerns, workload, and service expectations.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Closing, and other operations teams to resolve escalated loan issues and support timely closings.
• Provide guidance on complex loan files, documentation requirements, and processing issues.
• Help ensure loan files comply with company policies, investor guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and other applicable mortgage products, processing requirements, and regulatory changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, quality, and the customer experience.
• Participate in interviewing, selection, onboarding, and training of Loan Processors as needed.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must currently reside in Texas.
• Significant recent experience processing and/or managing the processing of Texas residential mortgage loans required.
• Minimum of 5 years of residential mortgage loan processing or mortgage operations experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent management or supervisory experience leading Loan Processors or mortgage operations employees.
• Strong experience with Conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage products.
• Thorough understanding of the residential mortgage process from application and processing through underwriting, conditions, approval, and closing.
• Strong knowledge of borrower income, assets, credit, collateral, loan documentation, and underwriting requirements.
• Demonstrated experience managing mortgage pipelines, workloads, service levels, and closing deadlines.
• Experience with Byte or a comparable mortgage loan origination system (LOS) required.
• Proven ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold employees accountable for performance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume mortgage environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant mortgage industry and leadership experience will be considered.

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes
Direct Reports: Up to 20 Loan Processing employees

Responsibilities include interviewing and selection, onboarding and training, workload assignment, coaching and development, performance management, and performance evaluations.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

This role operates primarily in a remote, professional office environment and utilizes standard office equipment and technology, including computers, telephones, and video conferencing tools. The position may involve prolonged periods of computer work as well as movement throughout the workday.

Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to support business needs, loan volume, and closing deadlines may be required.

COMPENSATION

Information regarding base compensation is available upon request.

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant mortgage processing and operations experience, management and leadership experience, job-related knowledge and skills, experience with specific loan products and systems, education, and other legitimate business and organizational considerations.
