Mott MacDonald's transportation and infrastructure teams deliver some of the most complex and impactful projects across the United States. We are seeking a Structural Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to challenging engineering assignments while gaining exposure to multidisciplinary collaboration, project delivery, and client engagement.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed structural designs using industry-standard analysis and design software
• Contribute to projects involving bridges (rail/LRT/highway), retaining walls, underground/buried structures, transit stations, and other civil infrastructure
• Participate in project meetings, client discussions, and multidisciplinary coordination
• Review, prepare, and refine engineering designs, drawings, and technical documents
• Perform structural analyses, prepare reports, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
• Attend site visits and on-site coordination meetings
• Support a "digital by default" delivery approach in project execution
• Gain exposure to project management, commercial aspects, and client relations

Candidate Specification:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• 3+ years of structural engineering experience with a Master's degree and EIT certification
• Experience with relevant design standards with AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, ASCE, CBC
• Experience in California seismic analysis and design
• Proficiency in designing structures using:

  • Precast/prestressed concrete
  • Post-tensioned systems

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop high-quality technical reports and drawings

Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

The expected salary for this position is $92,000 - $112,000.
