Radiation Therapist

plaintext JOB SUMMARY Provide high-quality radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist. This role involves operating radiation therapy equipment, ensuring precise patient positioning, monitoring patients during treatment, and maintaining accurate records. Key Responsibilities Administer radiation therapy treatments according to physician's prescription and established protocols. Accurately position patients for treatment using immobilization devices and standard techniques. Operate and maintain linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects during treatment and report to the physician. Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and treatment plans. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment charts and progress notes. Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Educate patients and their families about the treatment process and potential side effects. Schedule / Shift Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Required Qualifications Minimum of 6 months of current Radiation Therapist experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Active Colorado State Licensure (CMD). Preferred Qualifications ARRT (T) certification. Experience in Radiation Oncology. Proficiency with Meditech and Mosaic EMR systems. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) CMD (Radiation Therapist Licensure) Experience 6+ months of current Radiation Therapist experience. Radiation Oncology experience is preferred. Skills Patient positioning and immobilization techniques. Operation of radiation therapy equipment. Radiation safety protocols. Patient monitoring and assessment. Medical record keeping. Interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Adaptability and problem-solving skills.
