The Nurse Manager is also responsible to facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities for the provision of quality patient care. This individual shall demonstrate knowledge and understanding of organizational skills and interpersonal skills. The Nurse Manager will demonstrate the consistent ability to act as a role model by providing direction in the application of the nursing process, quality/performance improvement standards, and organizational/departmental goals and objectives. Additionally, the Nurse Manager is also responsible to allocate and the management of human resources in assigned areas. As a member of the Nursing Service Leadership Team, the Nurse Manager will assist in the development of long-term and short-term goals, objectives, policy development, and priority setting for the Nursing Department. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.**Education/Experience**: Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 2 years staff nurse experience with progressive experience in nursing and nursing management required.**License/Certification**: Active RN licensure required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:- Evidence of commitment to continuing education.- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.- Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.- Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.- Employee development and performance management skills.**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday.There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
