Our Client is seeking experienced contract attorneys to support our growing intellectual property practice.They help entrepreneurs, founders, startups, and established companies protect inspired ideas. Our work includes patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, copyrights, trade secrets, contracts, licenses, and pre-litigation intellectual property disputes.We are looking for attorneys who can assist with one or more of the following practice areas:

Trademark Prosecution:

• Trademark clearance and filing strategy
• U.S. trademark applications
• USPTO office action responses
• Specimen review and use in commerce issues
• Identification of goods and services
• Likelihood of confusion analysis
• Descriptiveness, disclaimer, and refusal issues
• Trademark maintenance and portfolio support

Patent Prosecution:

• Utility patent applications
• Design patent applications
• Provisional patent applications
• Non-provisional patent applications
• Office action responses
• Claim drafting and claim amendments
• Inventor interviews and invention disclosure review
• Patentability, novelty, and written description analysis

Pre-Litigation IP Disputes:

• Cease and desist letters
• Responses to cease and desist letters
• Trademark, patent, copyright, and trade secret disputes
• Infringement and risk analysis
• Enforcement strategy
• Settlement correspondence
• Evidence and exhibit review
• Practical recommendations for business owners

About the Role:

• This is a contract attorney position for experienced attorneys who can work independently, communicate clearly, and prepare high quality legal work product. The role may include project-based work, recurring assignments, or ongoing support depending on firm needs and attorney availability.

• The ideal candidate understands that intellectual property law is not just about legal rights. It is also about helping business owners protect what they are building, make informed decisions, and move forward with confidence.

  Responsibilities:
  • Draft and revise legal documents, correspondence, filings, and attorney work product.
  • Analyze facts, registrations, applications, prior art, claims, specimens, office actions, and supporting evidence.
  • Provide practical legal analysis for entrepreneurs, inventors, startups, and growing businesses.
  • Communicate clearly regarding assumptions, risks, recommended next steps, and open questions.
  • Meet agreed deadlines and provide reliable status updates.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle client information with professional care.
  Required Qualifications:
  • Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience in intellectual property law.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision after receiving project direction.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional judgment regarding privilege, confidentiality, client communication, and risk.
  Preferred Qualifications:
  • USPTO registration for patent prosecution work.
  • Experience preparing or prosecuting U.S. patent applications.
  • Experience preparing or prosecuting U.S. trademark applications.
  • Experience responding to USPTO office actions.
  • Experience drafting cease and desist letters or responses.
  • Experience with entrepreneurs, startups, inventors, small businesses, manufacturers, or technology companies.
  • Familiarity with contracts, licenses, assignments, NDAs, employee agreements, or trade secret protection.
  Work Arrangement:

• Position type: Contract attorney

• Location: Remote work may be considered

• Firm location: Phoenix area, serving clients nationwide.

• Workload: Project-based or ongoing, depending on firm needs and attorney availability.

• Compensation: Hourly contract compensation, based on experience and scope of work
