# Senior FinOps SpecialistSt LouisFinOpsNot Specified20/07/2026Full-timeOnsiteFavoriteAccess Job## Job Description## About the RoleThe Senior FinOps Specialist leads cloud financial management and cost optimization across an enterprise multi-cloud and SaaS environment. The role exists to strengthen FinOps practices that improve accountability, transparency, and efficient use of cloud resources while keeping spend aligned with regulatory and compliance requirements.You will work closely with technology, finance, IT Governance, and business stakeholders to build the frameworks, reporting, and operating models needed for effective cloud financial management. The primary focus is to improve cost visibility, support financial planning, and help the organization maximize the value of its cloud investments.## Key Responsibilities– Lead FinOps strategy and operating models across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms. – Partner with engineering, platform, finance, business, and governance teams to embed cost accountability. – Build and maintain cost governance frameworks, including tagging policies and spend controls. – Develop showback, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis capabilities. – Identify and drive cloud cost optimization opportunities, including rightsizing, reserved capacity, spot strategies, and architectural recommendations. – Support cost awareness in development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code standards. – Produce executive dashboards, cost reports, and KPI reporting for leadership and stakeholders. – Lead governance activities such as anomaly detection, budget alerts, and spend review cadences. – Negotiate and manage cloud commitments, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Enterprise Discount Programs. – Serve as a FinOps subject matter expert and help educate teams on cost-conscious cloud usage. – Stay current on FinOps Foundation frameworks, cloud pricing models, and emerging best practices.## Required Skills– Deep understanding of FinOps principles, frameworks, and practices as defined by the FinOps Foundation. – Strong knowledge of cloud pricing models, billing structures, and cost optimization levers across AWS, Azure, and GCP. – Ability to translate complex cloud financial data into actionable insights and executive recommendations. – Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data analysis skills. – Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. – Experience building and operationalizing cost governance processes and policies. – Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment. – Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. – 5+ years of experience in cloud financial management, IT finance, cloud operations, or a related discipline with progressive responsibility. – 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud cost management and optimization in enterprise multi-cloud and SaaS environments.Corporate Training## Preferred Skills– FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional certification. – AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or equivalent cloud certification. – Financial services or regulated industry experience.## Cloud Platforms & Technologies– \*\*Cloud Providers:\*\* AWS, Azure, GCP – \*\*Cloud Cost Management Tools:\*\* AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost and Usage Reports, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing – \*\*Third-Party FinOps Platforms:\*\* Cloudability – \*\*Reporting & BI:\*\* Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight – \*\*Delivery Practices:\*\* CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code standards## FinOps Responsibilities– Design cost allocation and showback models to improve accountability and transparency. – Build forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis processes. – Drive cost optimization actions, including rightsizing, reserved capacity planning, spot strategies, and architectural recommendations. – Establish tagging governance to improve cost attribution and reporting. – Deliver cost dashboards, reports, and KPIs for leadership and business stakeholders. – Manage cost governance activities such as anomaly detection, budget alerting, and spend reviews. – Oversee cloud commitment management, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Enterprise Discount Programs.## Benefits– Health, dental, and vision coverage – 401(k) – Wellness initiatives – Life insurance – Paid time off## Why You Might Be InterestedThis role offers broad responsibility across enterprise cloud spend in a multi-cloud and SaaS environment.
