Lead Senior Accountant

Top company located in Overland Park is expanding its accounting department with a newly created role for a Lead Senior Accountant. This position is open due to growth and an excellent career path within the company. The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and leadership qualities, mentoring staff. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Manage full-cycle general ledger accounting for multiple entities
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and accruals
• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
• Lead and mentor staff GL Accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Prepare and review Financial Statements
• Assist with the annual audit process
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencies in the GL process
• Utilize the ERP system

Qualifications

5+ years of professional accounting experience or a Senior in public accounting

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience

CPA preferred
