Quality Control Assistant Manager

Summary The main function of this position is to support the Quality Manager in the management of quality operations, and to act in the Quality Manager’s absence. Responsibilities Take responsibility for QC work, exchanging information with quality department staff, the manufacturing department, and business partners regarding various quality issues such as in‑process defects, KD claims, outflow defects, market claims, and in‑house problems. Identify problems, investigate their causes, implement improvements and strive to prevent recurrence. Prepare reports as necessary and take action that sets an example for QC staff. Participate in meetings with Corporation and Japan as required. Must be available to travel, including overnight stays. Manage the time until delivery of parts subject to changes such as process changes. Instruct QC staff on the RMMP and PPAP procedures to ensure no defects occur with modified parts. Manage the time required for various processes such as new model transition approval/shipment approval procedures and PPAP for new parts and launch new models. Participate in each project and summarize the implementation items for new initiatives to ensure a smooth transition. Create an annual QC work plan (set target) and report on first pass rate, defect amount, and quality improvement status once a month. Regularly check that staff are progressing smoothly, provide advice and encourage continued improvement. Prepare and coordinate for internal audits and external certification audits and act to ensure smooth response. Train staff using procedures, forms, work instructions, etc. Create missing documents and educate staff on them. Act as a substitute for the quality manager when the manager is absent or busy, ensuring QC can carry out its duties smoothly. Maintain close contact with the quality manager to ensure information exchange and cooperation, avoiding discrepancies. Manage QC staff work. Evaluate the performance of QC staff and provide guidance or discipline as necessary. Control the QC budget. Perform other duties as requested by the Quality Manager. Working Hours, Working Style Full‑time position, Monday to Thursday (a four‑day workweek with Fridays off). Standard office hours, with occasional overtime depending on production schedules. On‑site role with regular presence on the manufacturing floor. Working Location Rome, Georgia. Salary/Benefit Competitive salary up to $75,000 based on experience and qualifications. Experience using calipers, micrometers, and various gauges. Knowledge of measurement equipment used in quality environments (CMM, layout machines, image processing, and more). Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015. Ability to prepare reports. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Basic numeracy skills. Ability to make decisions and respond with a focus on quality. Ability to communicate with all levels of the company. The ability to see something through to the end.
