JOB SUMMARY:

The CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector is responsible for the programming, setup, and operation of CMM to inspect manufactured parts. This role ensures all components meet engineering blueprints, customer specifications, and ISO quality standards by utilizing advanced metrology equipment and traditional precision inspection tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for all programming of the CMM and inspection of manufactured products.

• Creates efficient and effective programs and adjusts previously written programs for the CMM equipment.

• Perform dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured products using CMM and other traditional tools.

• Maintain accurate records of time worked by utilizing the payroll time clock system.

• Adhere strictly to ISO inspection processes, internal quality procedures, and safety guidelines.

• Communicates any finding, non-conformances, or issues to Quality Manager.

• Adheres to all safety procedures and guidelines.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required.

•5+ years experience desired.

• Demonstrated experience in CMM Programming and operation.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.

• Hands-on experience with traditional measuring equipment (e.g.: micrometers, indicators, verniers, vision system, and pi tape) and sheet metal fabrication.

• Strong Analytical skills to determine the proper tools and methods required for measuring complex parts.

• Demonstrated experience in mechanical inspection and calibration.

• Working knowledge of blue print reading, GD&T, SPC, and sampling plans.

• Ability to do FPQ’s, CAV’s, PPAP’s and layout Inspection forms as well as determine proper tools for measuring part.

• ASQ certified is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Regularly required to talk and hear to communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and move around the manufacturing floor.
• Continually required to use hands to handle, feel, and operate precision measurement tools and CMM equipment.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
• The ambient noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, characteristic of a manufacturing or machine shop setting.

Exposure to moving mechanical parts requires strict adherence to company safety. protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where designated.
