Job Description

A growing 250-bed community hospital in the Kansas City suburbs seeks a licensed Pharmacist to support their dynamic pharmacy team. This contract role offers healthcare professionals—whether local or traveling—the opportunity to enhance their hospital pharmacy skills in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

Suburban Kansas City area (Lees Summit, MO)

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Verify medication orders with precision and accuracy
Supervise and collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians
Apply knowledge of pharmacokinetics to optimize patient care
Consult proactively with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapy
Utilize healthcare IT systems including Meditech and Pyxis for efficient operations

Qualifications:

Current Missouri Pharmacist license required
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Retail pharmacists welcome—excellent chance to transition and expand clinical expertise in a hospital setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

This 26+ week contract assignment provides hands-on exposure to hospital pharmacy protocols and interprofessional collaboration, making it an ideal role for pharmacists aiming to grow in acute care practice.
