PRIMARY PURPOSE
Direct and manage assigned areas of instructional program and campus operations. Oversee assigned student activities and services. Collaborate and assist the campus principal in all aspects of planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, personnel management, financial management, emergency procedures, resource scheduling, and facilities operations.QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification Master’s degree from an accredited university Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser Special Knowledge / Skills Creative visionary focused on effecting change and merging data, fact, intuition, imagination, and innovation to realize possibilities. Dedicated professional who models accountability, responsibility, ethics, and values differences, demonstrating human wisdom, courage, and compassion. Effective communicator with exceptional public‑relations and interpersonal skills, open‑minded and perceptive to the needs of students, staff, parents, and the community. Experience Three years of successful classroom teaching experience.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Management Encourage and support innovative instructional programs and assist teachers in piloting such efforts. Reinforce staff expectations regarding instructional strategies and classroom management. Foster collegiality and team building, encouraging active decision‑making participation. School / Organizational Improvement Lead planning and implementation of programs that achieve the school’s mission. Participate in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members. Assist the principal in maintaining information systems to track campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators. Communicate and promote high‑performance expectations to staff and students, recognizing excellence and achievement. Ensure effective communication with district and campus administrators, staff, students, parents, and the community. Act as a bridge between the district and campus to further the district‑wide strategic plan and ensure a unified vision and voice. Personnel Management Assist the principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff. Help define staff expectations for instructional strategies, classroom management, and public communication. Observe employee performance, conduct evaluation conferences, and serve as second appraiser when required. Confer with staff on professional growth, establishing improvement goals. Document performance and recommend actions regarding termination, suspension, or non‑renewal, with proper documentation. Collaborate with the leadership team and advisory councils to plan professional development activities. Administration, Fiscal & Facility Management Oversee campus operations in the principal’s absence. Plan and schedule daily school activities, including class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular programs. Coordinate and oversee all aspects of graduation planning, including timelines, logistics, student participation, and communication. Oversee student attendance tracking and address issues with staff. Prepare annual budget requests based on program needs. Requisition supplies, textbooks, and equipment; monitor inventory per district procedures. Coordinate support services such as transportation, custodial, and cafeteria. Comply with district policies, state and federal laws, and school regulations. Manage campus budgets, estimate enrollment and fiscal needs, and collaborate with the principal and faculty. Maintain accurate reports of attendance and textbooks. Manage the use of school facilities and supervise maintenance for safety and cleanliness. Assist in developing a master schedule based on student requests and staff certifications. Direct and monitor co‑curricular and extracurricular programs, including activity fund management. Develop emergency plans, conduct safety inspections, and manage safety‑drill practices. Student Management Act as campus behavioral coordinator in accordance with state laws and regulations. Help develop a student discipline management system that promotes positive behavior and a healthy school climate. Ensure uniform application of school rules and equitable discipline under the Student Code of Conduct and handbook. Conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers about student and school issues. Ensure adequate supervision of students during non‑instructional periods. Professional Growth Attend quality professional development opportunities for personal growth. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices before taking action. School / Community Relations Articulate the district’s mission and solicit community support. Demonstrate awareness of school and community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs, encouraging parent and community involvement. Promote a professional image within the community. Other Maintain confidentiality. Model integrity and ethics exemplary of the Educator Code of Ethics. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise and evaluate the work of professional staff as assigned by the principal, directing the work of teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants, and others. Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals. Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: Frequent walking. Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). Environment: Work inside; may work outside. Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. The job requires occasional district‑wide or statewide travel and frequent, prolonged, irregular hours.
