School Bus DriverFull-Time Position 2026-2027Position Summary: Transports students to and from school and related functions. Inspects and maintains the school bus to ensure proper operating condition.Qualifications:Requires a high school diploma or equivalent0-2 years of job-related prior experience preferred, will train if no experienceFirst Aid and CPR training preferred, will train if not certifiedCDL, Class "B" with "S" and "P" endorsements preferredEssential Job Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Transports students of all ages to and from school and extra-curricular activities in a safe and timely mannerManages student behavior and maintains discipline on the busConducts and logs pre-trip inspections to check for cleanliness, safety, proper mechanical functions and adequate fuel levelConducts trip inspections after each run to check for vandalism, cleanliness, lost articles and sleeping childrenMaintains and tracks route data as mandated by school and state regulations.Performs CPR and First Aid on the bus as neededReports mechanical problems to District mechanicsMaintains the confidentiality of students' discipline and medical records.Conducts monthly safety drills with studentsInterprets routes and maps and anticipates and analyzes road conditions and hazardsAttends monthly safety meetings and workshopsConverses with teachers and parents regarding the special needs of studentsOther duties may be assignedCOMPENSATION FOR EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED, 2026-2027 Classified Salary ScheduleStarting pay: $22.70APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until FilledMehlville School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and E-Verify ParticipantWe appreciate your interest in Mehlville School District!
