Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who coordinates patient care delivery by the healthcare team.
Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems.
The RN develops, implements, and evaluates an individualized plan of care.
The RN promotes safe passage for their patients, assisting them in transitioning through the healthcare encounter without preventable complications or delays.
The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition, and the competencies of the staff.
The RN provided care in various hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24X7 staffing.
Essential Functions:
Using clinical reasoning, the RN conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards.
The RN identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs.
The RN modifies care plans to meet clinical outcomes.
The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
The RN supports evidence-based practice changes through research utilization and experiential learning.
The RN creates a compassionate and supportive environment for patients and families.
The RN develops therapeutic relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
The RN manages emotional and physical pain to promote comfort and healing.
The RN recognizes and incorporates unique differences into individualized care plans.
The RN preserves and protects the confidentiality and rights of patients and families.
