Department: Early Supports
Hiring Range: $91,998.40 - $105,798.16

Salary Range: $91,998.40 - $119,597.92

Position Summary

The Early Supports Physical Therapist provides evaluation, assessment, and intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) with developmental delays, disabilities, or conditions that may impact motor development. Services are delivered using a family-centered, coaching-based model in natural environments, including family homes, childcare settings, community locations, and virtual platforms. The Physical Therapist partners with caregivers to support children's participation in daily routines and attainment of Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) outcomes.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities.
• Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine developmental and motor needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions.
• Coach and educate parents and caregivers to support child development during daily routines.
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team members to achieve IFSP goals.
• Complete required documentation, evaluations, progress reports, and treatment notes in a timely manner.
• Maintain compliance with ESIT, state licensing, and organizational policies.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
• Travel to homes, community settings, and other service locations to provide therapy services.
• Communicate effectively with families, coordinators, healthcare providers, and team members.

Minimum Qualifications Education

Required:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Licensure and Certifications

Required:

• Current Washington State Physical Therapist License in good standing.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Experience

Preferred:

• Experience providing pediatric physical therapy services.
• Experience working with infants and toddlers in early intervention, outpatient, home health, school-based, or community settings.
• Experience using family-centered coaching practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of infant and child development, neuromotor disorders, developmental disabilities, and pediatric rehabilitation techniques.
• Ability to evaluate and treat a variety of motor and developmental conditions.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and family education skills.
• Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective time management, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and Microsoft Office applications.

• Adaptive equipment, positioning devices, gait trainers, standers, and mobility equipment

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and floor-based activities.
• Ability to lift, transfer, position, and assist children weighing up to 25 pounds or more with appropriate assistance and adaptive equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate therapeutic exercises and movement activities.
• Ability to access homes and community environments with varying levels of accessibility.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in family homes, childcare settings, community locations, telehealth environments, and office settings.
• Frequent local travel between appointments, including up to 75 minutes between service locations.
• Ability to drive during varying weather and road conditions.
• Flexible work schedule based on family availability and service needs.
