Heavy Equipment Operator - Baton Rouge

Join our dynamic team in Baton Rouge as a Heavy Equipment Operator, where you'll play a crucial role in our warehouse and terminal operations. As an Equipment Operator, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery, ensuring the smooth transportation and storage of various cargoes. Responsibilities
Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as Wheel loaders and Bobcats safely within the warehouse, terminal, and docks.
Conduct pre-job inspections and periodic maintenance, including fluid checks and greasing systems.
Transport and store commodities efficiently within the terminal and warehouse.
Act as a signal person for other equipment and crane operators.
Perform general labor tasks as needed to support daily operations.
Complete and submit daily inspection reports to maintenance.
Report all incidents following company protocols.
Support and adhere to company safety initiatives and policies.
Demonstrate knowledge of required competencies and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of heavy equipment experience in an industrial, warehousing, or maritime environment (preferred).
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Proficiency in operating heavy equipment safely and within confined spaces.
Thorough knowledge of warehousing operations, maintenance programs, and safety protocols.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Basic math skills and ability to follow directions.
Demonstrated safe work practices and leadership ability.
Commitment to customer service and teamwork.
PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Must be physically fit to perform essential job functions and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to obtain a TWIC card and pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
