REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR EMS INSTRUCTORS:

• California driver license (Required)
• BLS Provider (within 6 months)
• AHA Instructor (Preferred)
• EMT, Paramedic or Registered Nurse in California (Required)
• Approved EMS Instructor Certification (Preferred)
• Ability to work an 8-hour shift Monday-Friday (Required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• 1 year in EMS or as an instructor in EMS field (Required)
• 2 years experience as a pre-hospital EMT, paramedic or Registered Nurse (Preferred)
• Acceptable driving record by Advantage’s insurance carrier (Required)
• CEVO/EVOC certification (Preferred)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing and presenting EMS educational curriculum.
• Maintaining the training room.
• Ensure that all required forms and documents are completed in a timely manner.
• Have the required capability and training to fulfill their duties.
• Maintain all required training certificates.
• Coordinate safety activities in cooperation with Advantage Safety program requirements as set by the Director of Risk Management.
• Ensure that all training equipment is used with care and respect.
• Ensure effective quality control and that corrective action takes place to be certain that complete customer satisfaction is achieved.
• Prepare for and present courses being taught.
• For CE courses ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed, and CE certificates are given to students at the end of the class.
• Ensures that staff are scheduled and trained in accordance with company policies.
• Assist in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process.
• Acts as the liaison between the Operations and Training Departments.

EMS INSTRUCTOR SKILLS:

• Proven work experience as an EMS Instructor
• Proficiency with computers including use of the internet, cloud based platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Excellent organizational skills
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily changing tasks
• Customer service attitude
• Attention to detail
