Lead Mammography Technologist ARRT(R)(M)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator, the Lead Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic and screening mammograms to patients in our flagship location El Nuevo San Juan in the Bronx.


Minimum Qualifications:

• ARRT Mammography Certification
• NYS DOH Radiology Technician License
• Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired.
• Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• 2-4 years minimum of related experience with mammograms
• Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired.

Responsibilities Include :

• Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort.
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered. Completes appropriate documentation.
• Acts as lead for the division in supporting training of other Mammo Techs.
• Prepares and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
• Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluation, pays attention to detail.
• Performs quality control functions related to mammography.
• Assists in compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.
• Serves as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists and other members of the support team.
• Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
• Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.

Starting Compensation:

Minimum $50.00 per hour; Maximum $52.00 per hour

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

Onsite, Bronx, NY; Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm - Some flexibility for Saturday shifts ideally as needed.
