For more information visit our website at Simon and Schuster is looking for an Editorial Assistant at Avid Reader Press who would report to two Editorial Directors. The responsibilities include reading manuscripts avidly, writing reader’s reports, writing copy for jackets, creating tip sheets, running P&Ls , communicating with authors and agents by phone and email, organizing schedules and meetings, submitting expense reports, and other general administrative duties. Requirements include: Possess strong MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as internet and Social Media skills. Demonstrate familiarity with and passion for practical and narrative non-fiction, especially health and wellness, self-help, memoir and more narrative titles by credentialed authors. Preferably the candidate has at least one year of publishing experience. Be able to work confidently and professionally in a fast-paced office environment.
