Custodian Pullman School District 267 Pullman High School - Pullman, Washington Open in Google Maps This job is also posted in Pullman School District 267 Job Details Job ID: 5928277 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Sep 15, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description DEFINITION OF POSITION : Perform cleaning and related duties for district IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Building Administrator REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Physical ability and stamina to do required work Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs Current First Aid and CPR certification or complete training within the first month of employment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : At least one year of custodial experience Experience and knowledge in custodial and maintenance practices, equipment, and materials ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES : Clean and maintain facilities using appropriate and correct procedures, equipment and supplies/chemicals Use custodial power equipment and hand implements required for general cleaning and maintenance Operate equipment in a safe manner Perform custodial duties correctly Recognize and take action to address safety hazards Follow instructions, both written and oral Read and interpret written instructions, service orders, etc. Utilize proper procedures in the storage, use, and handling of chemicals and supplies required for custodial work Set up and take down furniture as required for special events Assist in maintaining school grounds: clean sidewalks and driveways, rake leaves, etc. Assist with the clearing of ice and snow from areas around buildings Maintain building security at all times Possess and practice strong interpersonal skills with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization (staff, parents, community members, other agencies, etc.) Be a positive team builder who works in a collaborative manner Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work Maintain confidentiality Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions, and overall performance Work with minimal supervision and be flexible Perform other related duties as required or assigned TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Salary: Classified, Custodian: $23.52 - $27.22 per hour depending on experience Length of Contract: 8 hours/day (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.), 260 days/year Benefits/Leaves: Medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability coverage is provided through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year. Retirement benefits are provided through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS). Additional benefits may include sick/emergency leave and personal leave as per the collective bargaining agreement between the Pullman Educational Support Personnel (ESP) and the Pullman School District ( ESP Bargaining Agreement ).
