At Walgreens in Gilbert, Arizona, United States, the Shift Lead is responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of store management. This includes all required systems start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. The Shift Lead is also responsible for completing product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and providing change as requested to cash registers. They model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers and patients, greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving customer issues and questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

The Shift Lead assists with and coaches other team members to work with the warehouse and vendor ordering process, including opening the backdoor for vendor deliveries. They are responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash registers, maintaining accurate inventory counts, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products. They also assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance.

The Shift Lead attends training and completes PPLs requested by the Manager. They serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks to team members when store management is not present and reporting disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience is required. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is also required. The Shift Lead will remain open until filled.
