NC Machinist (Setup & Operate)

• Location : Stratford, CT (On-site)
• Job Type : Full-time
• Shift : 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Overtime : Up to 4 hours of daily overtime available (100% Voluntary / Non-Mandatory )

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our 1st-shift team. Unlike a basic operator role, you will be responsible for taking jobs from a setup sheet through the first-piece inspection, troubleshooting the process, and ensuring the line runs flawlessly. If you possess a high mechanical aptitude, love precision manufacturing, and want a stable environment running long-term aerospace lots, we want to talk to you.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform complete machine setups including installing fixtures, dialing in indicators, setting tool heights, and loading initial programs.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and complex technical drawings utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Prove out new programs and make critical edits to G-code/M-code at the controller to optimize cycle times or correct errors.
• Execute first-piece and in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).
• Troubleshoot machining issues independently, adjusting machine offsets, speeds, and feeds to maximize tool life and maintain tight aerospace tolerances.
• Maintain equipment continuity by performing routine preventive maintenance and ensuring a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications & Skills

• Required : 3+ years of professional CNC machining experience (setup and operation).
• Required : Deep understanding of blueprints, component tolerances, and tool selection.
• Required : Proven experience using high-level precision measuring equipment for strict quality control.
• Preferred : Prior experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with specialized alloys.
• Preferred : Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or similar multi-axis control systems.
• Preferred : Completion of a formal manufacturing trade school program or technical apprenticeship.
