Unit: Occupational Therapy
Daily Census: Approximately 250 active consults/day
Staffing: 30 staff members, with 17.29 FTEs
Staff Composition: 2:1 OTR to COTA ratio
Patient Ratios: Typically 9-13 patients assigned to each COTA daily
Equipment: General acute care DME
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 6 months of acute care hospital experience in Occupational Therapy
- Active Kansas licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in trauma care
- Experience with comprehensive stroke care
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting Occupational Therapy treatments as per patient care plans

- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and a high level of accountability
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility in adapting to the dynamic nature of acute care practice
The unit features a large therapy team working within a complex acute care environment, handling a diverse range of diagnoses. The welcoming team fosters a collaborative work environment and offers flexible scheduling options to accommodate personal needs. Staff members enjoy considerable autonomy in patient care planning and work closely with an interdisciplinary team to effectively meet the needs of patients and the community.
