Mechanical Engineering Intern

ASP is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join us for summer 2027! ASP’s 10-week summer internship program provides students with meaningful, project-based work that delivers real business impact. Interns gain hands-on experience, build professional skills, and develop an understanding of ASP’s products, culture, and the Fortive Business System (FBS), our proven approach to continuous improvement and growth. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while building a strong foundation for a successful career.As part of our mechanical engineering team, this intern will be responsible for supporting the design and development of mechanical systems and components for medical devices. They will work under the guidance of senior engineers to deliver designs, documentation, and testing aligned with their project goals.ResponsibilitiesSupport design and development of mechanical systems and componentsCreate 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD toolsAssist in generating requirements and documentationExecute test protocols and analyze resultsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issuesApply FBS tools for continuous improvementMaintain compliance with safety and quality standardsPerforms failure analyses and investigation reportsQualificationsWorking towards a degree in mechanical engineering or related field, graduating December 2027 or laterFamiliarity with CAD toolsAbility to work in person in Irvine, CAFortive Corporation OverviewFortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
