Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s of Applied Science 0+ years of experience Licenses, Registrations or Certifications American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) Texas Medical Board certification (MRT) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Job Description The Radiologic Technologist I works independently to complete a variety of routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including common and special fluoroscopic exams of routine to moderate complexity. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, delivers exceptional patient care, and adheres to diagnostic radiology exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. Essential Job Functions Promotes a positive work environment. Collaborates with all members of the patient care team. Uses peer‑to‑peer accountability toward department goals for retention and employee engagement. Proactively responds to patient needs. Optimizes protocols to improve patient care, image quality, and patient experience—addressing positioning, collimation, physiology, procedure preparation, technical factors, and appropriate use of lead markers. Assists physicians during diagnostic or fluoroscopic procedures, including sterile technique. Performs diagnostic radiologic procedures of moderate complexity. Practices radiation safety and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures. Complies with job role, department, and hospital safety standards, practices, and policies. Participates in WASTE walks and supports department LEAN projects. Reports near‑misses and inputs errors promptly into the appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system. Performs imaging equipment quality control (QC) at required intervals to ensure all equipment is in safe working order. Utilizes critical‑thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions or potential outcomes, obtaining assistance as appropriate. Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures and enters charges at the time service is delivered. Participates in department projects or shared governance activities. Seeks opportunities to expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development as a technologist. Work Schedule This position is PRN, up to 19.99 hours per week with no benefits. Hours are during weekend night shifts.
