Senior Trial Attorney

Responsibilities Represent ERIE and its insureds in civil litigation from inception through trial and appeal. Assess liability arguments and damages presented and offer timely insights and recommendations to support effective claims resolution. Collaborate with claims professionals, experts, and other stakeholders to ensure effective case management and consistent legal strategy. Conduct discovery; take depositions; prepare witnesses for testimony; draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other court filings; and attend court hearings, pretrial conferences, mediations, settlement conferences, arbitrations and trials. Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development through knowledge sharing and collaboration. Participate in training and development programs to enhance litigation and trial advocacy skills. Requirements Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required. Ten years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, required. Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in Pennsylvania, required. Admitted to practice, and in good standing, in the Federal Courts in Pennsylvania, preferred. Some periodic or overnight travel required.
