Typical surgical responsibilities may include: High-volume spay and neuter surgery Soft tissue surgery Dental procedures Shelter medicine procedures Urgent care and community medicine cases Experienced surgeons should expect to complete approximately: 10-20+ sterilization surgeries during a dedicated surgery day Additional soft tissue and medically necessary procedures as scheduled New graduates and less experienced surgeons will receive mentorship and training but must demonstrate a commitment to developing surgical efficiency and confidence. Medical Appointment Expectations We are committed to providing access to care while maintaining medical quality. Veterinarians should be comfortable: Seeing a full appointment schedule Maintaining efficient medical records Utilizing credentialed technicians appropriately Delegating tasks effectively Making sound medical decisions in a community medicine setting A typical full-time veterinarian may see: 18–30 appointments per day depending on appointment type, surgery schedule, and staffing levels Our goal is not simply to move faster—it is to help more animals without compromising patient care. Technician Utilization We strongly believe veterinarians should spend their time performing duties that require a veterinarian. Our technicians and assistants are trained to: Obtain patient histories Perform diagnostic testing Collect samples Administer treatments Provide client education Prepare surgical patients Monitor anesthesia Complete discharge instructions Veterinarians who excel in this role understand how to leverage a skilled support team to maximize patient care and clinic efficiency. Requirements Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) Idaho veterinary license or ability to obtain licensure Eligibility for Idaho State Pharmacy License and DEA License Ability to work four 10-hour shifts per week Commitment to the mission of accessible veterinary care Compensation & Benefits Salary: $110,000–$130,000 based on experience Additional compensation opportunities for coverage shifts Up to $60,000 sign-on bonus and/or relocation assistance Benefits include: Medical insurance with employer-paid contribution Employee premium cost of only $10 per pay period 401(k) with 100% match on the first 5% contributed Paid time off Continuing education support Professional license reimbursement Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
