Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including assessment, triage, monitoring, and treatment planning
• Perform primary and secondary assessments, identify urgent/emergent priorities, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, initiate treatments, and support invasive/non-invasive procedures as permitted by scope of practice
• Collaborate with physicians, unit staff, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans
• Educate patients and families, provide discharge instructions, and coordinate post-emergency care
• Uphold infection prevention measures, safety protocols, and relationship-based care to alleviate anxiety and improve patient experience

Requirements

• Active New York State RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years ED acute care nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI)
• Eligible to work in a hospital ED setting and to participate in rotating shifts (including nights and holidays)
• Education: Graduate of an approved nursing program (RN)
