Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to complete machine setups and changeovers on manual machining equipment. The ideal candidate will program and adjust machining parameters for various production runs while ensuring high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete machine setups and changeovers on manual machining equipment.
• Program and adjust machining parameters as required for various production runs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for machining operations.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
• Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot tooling, machine, and production issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
• Document production activities and quality checks as required.

Essential Skills

• Experience with lathes, mills, drill presses, and other manual machining equipment.
• Experience in manufacturing tight-tolerance components.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection processes.
• Vocational training, technical certification, or apprenticeship in machining.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and dependable.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of manual machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience performing machine setups, programming, and changeovers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Covington, TN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
