A Note on the Environment: This is a high-energy, physically demanding outdoor role. As we head into the Georgia summer, you will be working in the heat and sun. Key Responsibilities

• Safely assist drivers in the collection of residential solid waste and recyclables, ensuring our Fairburn neighborhoods stay clean.
• Efficiently load materials into the vehicle and sort recyclables into appropriate compartments.
• Act as the "second set of eyes" for the driver, assisting with backing up and maneuvering in tight spaces.
• Operate hydraulic compacting equipment and ensure the truck is stocked with necessary tools (brooms, shovels, etc.) before leaving the yard.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and identify/tag prohibited waste items to keep our community and equipment safe.
• Work closely with supervisors to improve routing and ensure every route meets GFL's high-quality standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
• 13 months of related physical labor is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!
• A valid driver's license is a plus.
• Must be able to meet safety-sensitive function criteria according to Company standards.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with your driver.
• A "safety-first" mindset at all times.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

This role is for those who enjoy a physical challenge. You will be moving for the duration of your shift.

• Work in the outdoor elements 100% of the time, including high humidity and summer heat.
• Regularly lift/move up to 65 lbs and push/move up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing in and out of the vehicle.
• Constant exposure to traffic, moving mechanical parts, and typical outdoor noise levels.
